VLK Announces Castillo as New Principal

VLK Architects proudly announces the promotion of Monika Castillo to Principal. This promotion is in response to her outstanding leadership and service that she has exemplified within the firm and to VLK’s clients. Working out of VLK’s Houston office, she has gained a vast amount of experience and become a leader in managing VLK’s projects in the educational market sector.

Since joining VLK in 2007, Castillo has consistently demonstrated a high level of responsibility not only with project teams, but with the entire office by possessing a ‘whatever it takes to get the job done’ attitude whether that is by writing specs, assisting with construction administration or with mentoring others. She is also dedicated to her clients and their projects. With a Bachelor of Architecture and a Bachelor of Structural Engineering from the University of Houston, she is dedicated to her clients and the success of their projects which has gained her respect and admiration from others. Castillo’s efforts in managing her work such as with Brazosport ISD’s projects and their 2019 bond planning efforts has been invaluable to the firm.

“Monika’s leadership on some of VLK’s most notable projects is an example for all of us at VLK. Her contribution has allowed us to maintain our commitment to delivering the highest standard in service to our clients,” said VLK Partner, Todd Lien. “She has gained the trust and respect of our most valued clients in the Houston office as well as those that work with her on a daily basis, truly dedicated to making us all better at what we do!”
